Title: Thesaurus of comparative religions.

Created: Spring, 2019

Course number: LIS 60649: Indexing and Abstracting.

Subjects: Subject headings--Religions.

Indexing.

Program learning outcome: 1. Apply the field's foundational theories, principles, values, ethics, and skills to everyday practice.

This thesaurus showcases my skills in indexing, research, written communication, and identification and incorporation of user needs; and demonstrates my extensive knowledge in the field of religious studies. It meets PLO 1 by applying foundational information organization skills such as thesaural structure and classified schedules; and adheres to the field’s fundamental value of creating user-centered services.

The thesaurus further addresses core competencies for cataloging and metadata through the building of a controlled vocabulary and indexing structure, documentation of local decisions and practices, and -through its representation of a broad range of belief systems- demonstration of respect for diverse cultures, values, and perspectives.
